Banafo Bosumfie presents Afahye traditional Akom songs and music from the Akan people of Ghana, West Africa. Akom is the traditional spiritual practice of the Akan people. This album was performed by Okomfo (priest) and Odomakoma Okyerema (Gods drummers) to celebrate the Abosum (deities) for their great work and healing they have done for centuries. Afahye is a day or period of celebration including drumming, dancing, singing, and community healing. This most anticipated album is the first album the Banafo Bosumfie released in 20 years.
